The Bootstrap Bee Garden project turned an abandoned private car park into a community growing garden for workshops, small businesses, events, and a home for some very special Bees.
We were commissioned to design an oasis of greenery in a densely built up area of London, to re-invigorate the fragile bee population as well as providing a sanctuary for neighboring residents to enjoy.
To achieve this, we ran a garden makeover workshop with children and young adults from the local community which culminated in a collaborative mural, growing beds, and temporary seating space as a means to kick start this ongoing initiative.
